
The Cottonport Police Department responded to a reported armed home invasion in the 300 block of Coco Avenue on Nov. 13 at approximately 2:31am.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the suspect had locked himself inside the residence. The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police SWAT were requested to assist. Law enforcement personnel were able to safely bring the situation to a peaceful resolution without injuries.
The suspect, identified as Keith Derozan Jr., 25, of Cottonport, was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:

Two (2) counts of Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault

One (1) count of Possession of a Firearm or Carrying a Concealed Weapon by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies
Keith Derozan Jr. was placed on a hold at the time of this release.

The area has been cleared and the neighborhood is safe. The investigation remains active. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
