
The Avoyelles Parish Library is hosting its annual contest. The theme for 2026 is “Re-Imagine, Re-Vision, Re-Frame.”
Artists can enter now through March 13. Voting will start on March 16 at 8am and end on March 20 at at 5pm.
Winners will be announced Saturday, March 21, at 10am. There will be an awards ceremony at the Marksville Branch of Avoyelles Parish Library, and it will be streamed on Facebook.
After voting, APL will only hold on to submissions until March 31. Artists will need to come and get their work. Any unclaimed work will be displayed it until the next contest, then used as an art piece in one of the parish libraries.
Entry into this art contest automatically qualifies the work for publication in the literary journal.
Some rules to remember:
- APL will only be accepting art that is appropriate for public viewing.
- Artwork must be on a canvas.
- Artwork must measure between 8″x10″ and 18″x24″ inches.
- Sign up for the appropriate age group (Children 0-12, Teens 13-19, Adults 20 and above). If a parent signs up for a child, sign up for their age group.
- APL will not accept ANY plagiarism.
- Artwork will need to be brought to the main library branch in Marksville before March 13 so it can be voted on in-person.
- Only one piece of artwork per individual.
