
An incident occurred at the Avoyelles Parish 12th Judicial District Courthouse on Tuesday, May 5, at approximately 11am. Carnelious Dominick entered the third floor of the courthouse and attempted to hand an unknown package to an inmate that was present for a scheduled court proceeding. Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies assigned to courthouse security observed this and took action.
Deputies attempted to take Mr. Dominick into custody; however, he fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued, and a search of the area resulted in successfully locating Mr. Dominick hiding inside a shed at his residence, located on Brouillette Street, Marksville.
Mr. Dominick was taken into custody without further incident and booked into APSO DC-1 on the following charges:
-Resisting an Officer
-Possession of Schedule I W/ Intent to Distribute (Synthetic Cannabis)
-Possession of Schedule I W/ Intent to Distribute (Heroin) (Felony)
-Possession of Schedule II W/ Intent to Distribute (Methamphetamine) (Felony)
-Possession of Schedule III W/ Intent to Distribute (Suboxone Sublingual) (Felony)

They would like to thank the Marksville Police Department and Louisiana State Probation and Parole Agents for their prompt response and assistance in establishing a perimeter which resulted in APSO Patrol and Crime Suppression Agents in locating the suspect.
