Sheriff David L. Dauzat announced the arrest of a former female Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse, 56-year-old Ms. Tara Lynn Warren of Marksville.
On April 22, the APSO Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU) initiated an illegal contraband investigation at the APSO DC-1 facility, which led to this investigation. After CIU conducted a thorough investigation, it resulted in the arrest of Ms. Warren on Wednesday, April 29. The employment of Ms. Warren with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office has been terminated.
Ms. Warren has been charged with Malfeasance in Office (Felony) and Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution (Felony).
Ms. Warren was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office with a bond set at $25,000, and she was released from custody after posting bond on April 29.
Sheriff Dauzat stated that this case remains an active and ongoing investigation, and more arrests are likely.
