Join the LSU AgCenter for a hands-on demonstration and discover the many uses of the beautiful and productive plant known as Hibiscus roselle on Friday, October 2, 9am – 12pm, at the Rapides Parish Extension Office in Alexandria.

Participants will learn about:

– Growing Roselle
– Harvesting & Processing
– Tea Making
– Jam Making
– Using Roselle as a Natural Dye

Harvested hibiscus roselles will be available for purchase at the event. Participants will also receive roselle seeds later in the year so they can start growing their own plants next spring.

Wear clothes and shoes that are suitable for working in the garden, as portions of the program will take place outdoors.

Whether a home gardener, homesteader, food enthusiast, or crafter, participants will leave with practical tips and ideas for growing and enjoying roselle at home.
