The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has issued a second update regarding the ongoing emergency road closure on LA Highway 1 near LA 114, in the Hamburg area of Avoyelles Parish, due to a train derailment.
The anticipated end date of this closure is July 18, weather permitting.
Currently, LA 1 remains fully closed in both directions.
Traffic is being detoured using LA 114. Motorists should follow posted detour signs and use caution when traveling through the area.
DOTD continues work to repair and restore safe travel conditions in the area affected by the derailment. The public will be notified if timelines change again due to weather or construction factors.
