Move Bunkie Forward has announced the launch of Move Forward Monday, a new initiative designed to meet the needs of families and students in the community.
With Avoyelles Parish Schools operating on a four-day week, Move Forward Monday will provide structured, school-day-style programming every Monday from 8am to 12pm for students in grades 1–6—completely free of charge.
The program includes:
- English and Math tutoring aligned with the school board’s curriculum
- Physical activity, health enrichment, and reading development
- Nutritious meals: breakfast, lunch, and a snack provided each week
- Student progress tracked three times throughout the school year
This is part of Move Bunkie Forward’s mission to promote health, education, and opportunity in the community—and they need the public’s help to make it happen. They are still actively seeking financial support and partnerships to fully fund this program and serve all 60 students.
