The Moreauvillle Police Department responded to the address of 305 Porter Street in reference to a shooting on Friday, April 24, at 5:17pm. One male subject suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported by Acadian Ambulance to Avoyelles Hospital, where he was then Airlifted to Rapides Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

 

Preliminary investigation, which included interviews and the collection of evidence, revealed the shooting to be domestic in nature and there was no threat to the outside public. One female suspect was taken into custody and has been charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder. The investigation remains on-going.
